Nails in the Coffin? Microsoft, Hear this!

Is Microsoft listening?

What can we all learn from this?

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

It looks like many people agree with me.  Capitalism vs Activism: Microsoft deals with both, posted February 8th, stated that the problem may not be Microsoft’s.  Floating through my stream of consciousness , I stumbled upon this article: Time to dump Windows?on Yahoo News dated February 17th.

The poll has been taken… Continue reading

A virus just in time for Valentine’s Day

A Valentine’s card that should be forgotten.

We all should know not to click links in e-mail or open attachments that we are not sure about.  This is just a friendly reminder,  a shout out to my loyal readers.

roses-for-valentines-day-2-chance-agrella_320x240.jpg   As Valentine’s Day roles around, there is a computer virus that has been showing up in mail boxes around the world that claims it is a electronic Valentine’s card.  If you don’t know, are uncertain, or just rightly cautious, then don’t click to open the mail.

I suggest deleting the mail and thanking the person who sent it to you in person.  If they didn’t send it, claim no responsibility, or you can’t find them, then you probably avoided a nasty computer virus.  If they didn’t…

…After all, it’s the thought that counts.  Right?  Happy Valentine’s Day!

Moving Mania: The tale tailend – U-haul, the dealer, the move

A Surprise: Not all U-haul® dealers the same

This type of moving  experience is a first for this writer.

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

A moving experience, for sure.  And since I’m making an effort to learn Spanish this year; Una experiencia móvil, para seguro.  Which I believe translates as “An experience moving, for sure.”

Kudos should be given to Dale Gibson who plies his trade of U-haul® dealer from “Treasures & More“, in Sarasota, Florida.

Dale seems to be a man who does his best to help any of the strangers that should grace his shop.  He recently rented me the truck that I used to move.  Before then, he didn’t know me from a hill of beans.  Here is why he deserves some recognition.  Continue reading

Recession: Looks like the ship will sink like the hearts

Recession hits the heart     hearts-for-valentines-day-chance-agrella_320x240.jpg

If you want to know the future just read the headlines

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

I see more and more articles just like the one below.  They are everywhere.

I was doing some last minute browsing before going to bed and ran into an article which headline speaks more about the economy and the “recession” than it realizes.  Just the fact that this was placed in the business section of a major news site tells me that someone thought there was a need.

10 tips for a fun — but frugal — Valentine’s Day

Do you have a honey, but not a lot of money? Try these economical ideas

Written by a MSNBC Money contributor, Laura T. Coffey, this story may not get the play with people that may need it.  I thought I’d take the time to pass it along for the benefits of my readers and to reinerate the idea that every little headline adds up.

roses-for-valentines-day-2-chance-agrella_320x240.jpg   Also, call me a romantic.  I want to be clear here, but I believe the simple, yet creative,  gifts for any occasion mean more than spending a lot of money.

But there were days…

Another nibble – Don’t let American Creativity go to waste

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

On Januarary, 21st I wrote “Idea Nibbles – Idea Collaboration“.  It was a clarion call for creative thinkers and forward-looking individuals of all walks of life to join me in a quest to develop the creativity of the American mind.

That sounds pretty intense as I write this, but in practice, it’s just friends helping friends with whatever they can do.   Continue reading

I’m back…Moving is just a pain

Moving is such a pain

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

After jumping off the known world and smack-dab into the twilight zone (moving) I have returned battered and bruised but slowly ramping up to assume a productive place within society once again.

Thank you, all my readers, for your patience.  Just FYI.

Moving Mania

Moving is such a pain.

I’m moving this week. I started moving last week.  I may be moving next week too.

“The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray.”  I forget where I heard that quote.  I think it was the Bard.

Whoa!  I was just going to lament the situation I got myself into over this move.  And, just now, I received a phone call.  I’ll get back to that.  Continue reading
