Saving for a Smart Car – Buckets of Food for Pennies

Saving for a Smart Car –

 Buckets of Food for Pennies

The Food Budget Owner's Manual

The average person, not just the average family, can save $200+ a month on their food bills alone.  If you started now, you could save enough money each month to purchase out-right,  a smarCar in 6 years.

This is a shameless plug.  Why Shameless?  If you knew something that could save almost anyone 10’s to 100’s of dollars a month, 1000’s of dollars a year, would you want to tell someone?

I do.  And I do.

It may seem like common sense, and everyone knows these things, right?  Then why do you spend roughly 50% more on food every month than you should?

Oh!  OK.  I understand you’re not a coupon-clipper.  Neither am I.  But I still don’t spend more than I should on food each month.  And, I eat pr-e-t-t-y good.  There is no food inflation in my house.

If someone who is single and not responsible for buying their own food can save someone $65 a month just because they read this book then maybe someone who has a real monetary interest in having money to eat on can save a lot more.

Still don’t know what I’m talking about?  Take a gander to Buckets of Food For Pennies and while you’re there you might want to sign up for their newsletter.  If nothing else, it has a smashingly good cookie recipe that comes with the first-edition Welcome letter.   Who knows?  Maybe you’ll be riding around in a smartCar.  You know they don’t call them smartCars for nothing.

Once in a Lifetime Opportunity?

Who knew?

PATRICK LALANDE ON WORDPRESS
  • Who knew that Wal-mart was going to be such a big name in the retail market?  Did you?
  • Who knew that a little company called Microsoft was going to change the world?  Did you?
  • Who knew that the horse-less carriage, or Democracy, or the Internet would be as big as it is today?  Did you?

Wouldn’t you have loved a little notice of domain names or the telephone companies, or any other opportunity that would allow you to retire rich?  Wouldn’t have like to have bought Microsoft, or Google, or Yahoo before the “Big Boys” drove the prices up?  Wouldn’t you have loved a little notice that you would be using the Internet browser before the Internet became so commercial?

Things tend to grow quite rapidly in today’s world.  I had my chances.  I could have bought Microsoft for $10 dollars a share (equivalent to 50 cents today).  I could have bought Google for $85 dollars on its opening day.  I was ahead of the domain name growth but only told my friends, and didn’t invest for myself.  I could have bought Starbucks when they only had 160 stores.  I coulda, woulda, shoulda.  This isn’t a whine.  IT IS A WARNING!

There is a a little-known technology with a very, under-assuming name that you need to know about.  As a disclaimer, I hereby notify you that my brother has created it.

So those that are suspicious, leave now.  Don’t read any further.  Continue reading

A virus just in time for Valentine’s Day

A Valentine’s card that should be forgotten.

We all should know not to click links in e-mail or open attachments that we are not sure about.  This is just a friendly reminder,  a shout out to my loyal readers.

roses-for-valentines-day-2-chance-agrella_320x240.jpg   As Valentine’s Day roles around, there is a computer virus that has been showing up in mail boxes around the world that claims it is a electronic Valentine’s card.  If you don’t know, are uncertain, or just rightly cautious, then don’t click to open the mail.

I suggest deleting the mail and thanking the person who sent it to you in person.  If they didn’t send it, claim no responsibility, or you can’t find them, then you probably avoided a nasty computer virus.  If they didn’t…

…After all, it’s the thought that counts.  Right?  Happy Valentine’s Day!

“Wow! Great Casserole” Recipe: A health food for your pocketbook

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

Just one more recipe post promised to a for a few close friends.  It was also written with the pure neophyte in mind.  It’s just not a recipe but also a ”cookipe”.  It will expand the diet of those who will make it.  Someday I’ll explain why I do this.

The gist of this very forgiving recipe is, that it will feed an army, is reasonably inexpensive, easy to prepare (in the time it takes to boil noodles), and has never had a single complaint to anyone it was served.

Nibble – LaserShield Security Systems

Patrick Lalande on WordPress

I am moving and, while the house I’ll be renting has a lot of good qualities, one thing that is missing is a security system.  I looked into having a system wired into the house but the restrictions for doing so made the installation very expensive and full of liabilities.  I have found the solution.

While I was at Circuit City this past weekend I was introduced, by a very interesting gentleman, to a new wireless, consumer security system.

LaserShield Starter Kit

He was a salesman for LaserShield Instant Security

I have lived with various security systems but no other has offered the convenience and ease of use that this system has to offer.  I bought one.

This product would be great for dorm rooms, retirement communities, rental housing, and residential homes in general.

Which brings me to Monday.  I was browsing after working to help a family member move and what did I run into?  On MSN’s tech and gadgets section was a picture blog called “Useful tech at CES” which has as its first picture, the Cyclone LaserShield.

Perhaps I’ll write more about this product later.  For now, it is sufficient to say that I was impressed.

Just a note.  The only negative thing I noted is that working over the phone lines seemed to be a weak link to total security.  Monitoring really makes the security so if your phone lines are a concern, the cellular option, Cyclone, may just be the trick.  And according to their website, the Sparrow, a broadband link, will soon, also optionally, be available for monitoring the system over the Internet.

I will continue my investigation of this very “useful” and user-friendly tech device.
